About the artist
I am Lili, a Croatian artist currently based in Norway. As a kid I wanted to be a painter. I was drawn to paper, colour and light, and mesmerised by the beauty in the world. Today I'm still on that path. I make art because it feels good and because it makes me a better person, and I love the challenge of finding beauty in ordinary daily moments through my camera. I started as a photographer, but I also write, make embroidery on paper, and play with drawing, printmaking and bookbinding. I don't like being tied to one medium. Staying open, in art and in life, brings me a lot of joy.

Connecting through art
I believe art shouldn't feel exclusive, open only to artists, curators and collectors. My goal is to make it more accessible, closer to people. When I create, I often feel so excited to have discovered something that my instant urge is to share it. I'm drawn to everyday moments and the things we all quietly have in common, and I take a lot from psychology: emotions, wellbeing, balance.
I'm an introvert. I like to observe, study and document. I love the sun, sea and flowers. I smile a lot, I dance a lot, I listen to music all the time, and I love baking cakes. I sometimes get lost in my own thoughts, I get sad and confused, and that's when I feel I need art the most. It makes me connect to myself, and through that to other people too. It makes me believe we are all more or less alike :)
