MY STORY
About the artist
I am Lili. I am a Croatian artist currently based in Norway. As I kid I wanted to become a painter, I was drawn to paper, colours and light and I was mesmerised by the beauty and intricate connections evident in the world. Today, I am continuing on this path. I make art because it feels good and because it makes me a better person. I enjoy the challenge of finding beauty in ordinary daily moments through my camera. I started as a photographer, but today I also write, make embroidery on paper, draw, paint and do printmaking and bookbinding. In short - I play! I have realised that freeing oneself from the constraints of a single medium in art, like otherwise in life, brings much joy and knowledge.

Art for Everyone
During my academic education, I came to realise that the art world can sometimes appear exclusive, accessible primarily to artists, curators, and collectors, rather than being welcoming to the broader public. I believe in art for everyone and my main goal is to make it more accessible, closer to people. I hope to share my knowledge and excitement about art, and to encourage more people to participate in this world and make it a part of their own.

Sharing
When I create, I often feel so excited and overwhelmed to have discovered something, so much so that my instant urge is to share that with other people. I want to immerse others in this newfound experience and share what I learned.
I’m interested in exploring everyday life moments and the importance of our shared human experiences, I’m on a quest to explore balance in life through art. I take inspiration from psychology exploring topics of emotions, well-being and personal growth.

Connecting through art
I’m an introvert, shy and don’t like to be in the centre of attention. I like to observe, study and document. I love the sun, sea and flowers.
I smile a lot. I listen to music all the time. I like podcasts, I like learning.
I enjoy good food and especially the challenge of making healthy sweets!
I occasionally get lost within my own thoughts and goals, I get sad and confused and that is when I feel like I need art the most. Art makes me connect to myself and in that sense to other people too, it makes me believe that we are all just more or less alike :)
